🔒 Jail

Isolate a member in one channel: /jail takes their roles away, and /unjail gives them all back.

Set it up

Go to Moderation → Jail in the dashboard and press Set up the jail. Vaqun creates:

• a Jailed role, denied access to every channel in the server;
• a Jail category with a chat channel for jailed members;
• a jail-logs channel where every jail and release is logged.

Closing every channel on a big server takes a few minutes, because Vaqun paces itself to stay within Discord's limits. Channels created later are closed to the Jailed role automatically. If something gets deleted in Discord, press Repair.

Add moderator roles to let your team see and talk in the jail channel and read the logs.

Use it

• /jail @member [duration] [reason]: saves the member's roles, removes them, and gives them only Jailed. With a duration (30m, 1h, 1d, 2w, up to a year) Vaqun releases them by itself when it's up. Without one, they stay until /unjail.
• With the . prefix, put the duration right after the member (.jail @member 1h spamming); one at the very end (.jail @member spamming 1h) works too.
• /unjail @member [reason]: gives their saved roles back and removes Jailed. Roles deleted since are skipped.

Their roles are saved in Vaqun's database, not in memory, so a restart never loses them.

Leaving and rejoining

Leaving the server isn't a way out: a jailed member who rejoins gets Jailed again. Sticky roles and autoroles leave them alone while they're jailed, and /unjail restores their real roles.

Deleting the jail

Delete the jail first releases everyone (giving their roles back), then deletes the role, the category and both channels. If anyone can't be released, nothing is deleted.

FAQ

Can a jailed member still see a channel? Only if that member has their own permission overwrite on it (member overwrites beat role ones), or if Vaqun lacked permissions during setup. Press Repair to re-check every channel.

Jail is free? Yes, on every plan, like ban, kick and mute.
